Friday's fun
Trying to catch a round..The mad fool with his hand near the target is taking a bit of a chance.
50 metres with telescopicLooks like a good grouping. Over what distance...?
50 metres with telescopic
Had a few shots with an Enfield. 303.
Some bang and a kick compared to .22
Last time was a year ago.
Never had a gun.

Talking to son who was in reserve says Bren used same .303. Said you had to hold tight for recoil and then to stop it going forward.Even from my limited knowledge that looks pretty impressive from 50m.
Last weapon I fired was a Bren Gun in the Army Cadets. The main objective with that was to kick up as much dirt as possible rather than hit the target, far more satisfying.

Don't know about any of that stuff but I know it was great fun!!That was ages ago. The Bren was rechambered for 7.62 NATO in the 50's. On open sights and prone, you could get far better groupings with a Bren than an SLR.
That was about 20 yrs ago - as a reserve I'm guessing they were using older Brens which handn't been modified.
this sideJust a thought...which side of the water are we talking about...? Ireland or Blighty.?
