Nice one - sounds like you were winding it on a bit alright!

Burning off excess fuel on the overrun - you probably had flames out the back too! I used to get that with race cans fitted on mine.

Erm...eh....just making good progress;-0))

Fixed dodgy heated grip (bad connection), was gonna wash it but took her out for a 80 mile test ride to make sure the grips were working ok...

They are...

My heated grip wasn't completing the circuit within the grip so had to replace it.

What a faff getting it off. The replacement slid on easy after being immersed in REALLY hot water and cooled down to a good fit. Had to trim a lot off this time to get it to fit as they seem to have got longer but it was an easy job since I only replaced the one grip so didn't have to rewire the whole lot.

Gave it a quick wash and it's now ready to ride. I've not been out for 10+ days due to a trapped nerve but I reckon I'm good to go again now.

I thought it would be. I'd loved to have gone out but only had a short time in the garage as I had parental duties.

I did hear quite a few bike a couple of miles away on the A414 being taken to the red line.

84 miles of pure grin factor in the beautiful, sunny, if a trifle blowy at times, Lincolnshire countryside.....perfect! oh yeah and tested my new Aldi special undergarments, which all in all were pretty good. @tu*

mot yeh right...

so my 1200 bird is due for the first time since I moved from kent to gosport area.
As lumpy was in area I txt him for a good place to go.
Ridge Farrants he says, so off I got and book the test for yesterday.

Sat morning quick run up to honda in chichester to see if I had won anything and to warm the bike up as it had not had a run in months, then back home for the bike to have a quick wash before mot.

MOT time ...
the bike has a 4 -1 exhaust led indicators all round HID high and low, ohlins rear shock, yammy R1 front forks and brakes.

guy doing MOT... what no center stand ? I should charge you extra as this is a 2 man job.
Your indicators are too dim I cant see em properly but I cant fail it as is no measurement.
chain has to be adjusted its slack, I reply diff suspension its correct when you sit on it...
chain has play at the sprocket... it actually move maybe 2 mm off the sprocket...
chain needs lube...
sprocket dirty... me.. its the lube from the chain..
Brakes... is this a linked system.... no its a yammy front end
then tries to rip the handlebar off by pulling upwards ..... one at a time
exhaust is after market and too loud.. hinkle titanium 4 into 1 and been on bike since I got it and always past no probs.
front tire failed as low tread....

Rode 100 yds down road to tire place ... that tire is legal mate you are only touching the 1.6mm marker at 1 point rest of tire is better and they are 1.6 mm and legal limit is 1mm.

Anyway order new tire and drop off the wheel later in the day.

phone up lumpy and his reply was... he has a dry sense of humour... was it your red bird coz thats the problem then....

lol
