Have been offered a 96 ( p plate ) Yamaha xs 650 at what seems like the right money, just to play on ! m o t ,d & running when it was parked up some 2 to 3 years ago, not used since.i know the seller quite well & he tells me the bike is in good condition. Just wondered if anyone has had any experience of this bike in a previous life & can give me any pointers. Iam no great mechanic but though it might be a nice winter project for me & the lad as he is pretty good on the old tools! ( follows his mother!) I would appreciate any help or pointers before i make a decision

If its an import it will be restricted to 85 mph and could have a 16 or 17 inch rear wheel
A great bike that the old triumph at Meredan should have made many happy memories
There is a place down south that specialises in them and the 750 triple but cannot remember their name its been years since i had one
