Would a failing reg rec cause a misfire

All within spec sufficient to not be the misfire problem..

I would be surprised if the gen change cure the misfire but it will cure any charging issues ..

On post#3, John, he says turning off the headlight ameliorated the problem so my money is on anew alternator and possibly a new battery curing the misfiring. :-0)

I will get the battery tested last time i used halfords they told me my battery was fine when it was indeed shagged, i will try my local accessory shop. I think the battery is fine as it holds charge well, i never bothered undoing it this winter and it sat going know where for weeks always turned over and started fine still as its in bits might as well.

When soldering the yellow wires together once my new generator is here does it matter which wire goes to which??
