hope this is not another high street retailer in trouble - B&Q and particularly Carpetright look to be hanging on by fingertips at the moment.
Lots of jobs on the line.

Not sure that's right John? Screwfix are in the same group as b&q but Wickes?B & Q are in the same umbrella group as Wickes
Plenty of good people work in retail! Today I had the pleasure of buying some furniture from the local independent that has been there since 1938 - the fourth generation of owner/manager is currently learning the ropes, a couple of the sales team have been there for over thirty years!!Cheers Andy .. Teach me to listen to the shop employees .. They are working in a shop for a reason..... LOL!

I totally agree.A lot of good people work in retail for example me and that's only because my previous firm through me on the scrap heap after 15 years. It is amazing how many people think if you work in a shop you must be stupid
And explain to me why that makes them good people ?Plenty of good people work in retail! I am mystified !!
No where did I imply or suggest that people who work in shops are stupid or in any way inferior.. You folks took my implication down the wrong tunnel
It is only JAWS that is slagging off people who work in shops....My business is retail ..and I couldnt give a fuck what anyone thinks
I wonder if that includes people who work in motorcycle parts/servicing shops in Leigh, near Manchester? It is only JAWS that is slagging off people who work in shops....
Hearing the words 'the price of oak' brings me out in a very cold sweat.Places like B&Q do have some knowledgeable employees the problem tends to be that they are few & far between & tend to be off sorting out other employees fuckups, our local one has a brilliant guy with 40 odd years building trade experience on the odd occasion I'm stuck its him I seek out
I was in there yesterday buying cheap CLS & another customer started to moan to me about the price of oak he was looking at, my comment that he should just go to the local sawmill & get what he wanted cut at half the price for English oak rather than that shite didn't seem to go down well with the employee that was walking past at the time
