What's the best braided lines?

I want to change my brake and clutch lines as they are still standard and after 56,000 miles I think they're past their best. I want to put all new lines on, including the clutch and would like to know other Bird riders opinions. I've looked at Demon-Tweeks and they do a full set of Goodrich for ?191.50, which sounds like a good deal to me. But, am I going down the wrong route or is this the best option? They do come complete with stainless steel banjo's and all the necessary copper washers. I would need to get new fluids etc. and possibly bleed nipples, so, any ideas/help would be gratefully received.

goodrich are hard to beat price-wise, and the fluids are a necessary expense whichever way you go, I shouldn't have thought new nipples would be called for unless you have buggered them up at some stage, even then it's not the end of the world :dunno: the one place a person really shouldn't skimp in my opinion is on the brakes!!
now I'm off out to bleed my buggers again!! :bang:
recommend you DON'T get your partner to help after having a blazing row!!

Thanks for those helpful hints.

I was going to strip the calipers down and service them at the same time. I'm paranoid about the brakes being perfect, as Ianrobbo said, they're of paramount importance. I'll go for the Goodrich then and also change the bleed nipples at the same time, just to be safe. So, the next question is - is there any particular brand of brake fluid anybody would recommend AND do any of you use a cheaper fluid for "bleeding" through or just go straight in with the good stuff?

Last question, I know there was a post before about bleeding the brakes, but, can someone please give me the thread and any tips on bleeding a standard linked system. Thank you all once again. Sometimes the paintwork seems the easy bit, compared to the mechanical side:bow:

Go with Goodridge. Good quality and their after-sales is excellent. If you buy direct from them you might get a better deal than DT are offering. Got to be worth a try?

Stainless braided lines

Hi, HEL do a stainless kit for the bird, including stainless nipples etc, worth considering. As for bleeding the brakes. Get a Haines manual and a non return kit and follow the instructions **EXACTLY** Buy at least 3 litres of new brake fluid and let it stand undisturbed for at least a week to allow any small bubbles to rize to the surface of the fluid. Best done with a friend to help.
