Yup, you got it Steve..
You see originally there was a faction who wanted a sports section and an equally big faction that hates footy and said it would end up being a football section.

So all involved on here agreed to keep the sports section for automotive sports ( not just bike related but anything automotive ) and keep the footy and stuff in the coffee shop.

So you see for those that have been around long enough this 'ere section is not as intended..
Just look at the forum header on the index list and it says automotive only..

There is a constant shout for a car forum.. so what if I set it up and all that was discussed was football in it ? Would that be right or correct ?
No..

But you folks know and appreciate this whole forum is to a great extent self regulating.. We all rely on each others integrity to play the game..

Take the help section.. Everyone knows the rules on there are there should be no piss taking or banter until after an answer to a problem has been reached.. Pretty much everyone ( most of the time ! ) sticks to it.

Equally, folk stick to the idea of posting a spoiler warning on posted results of any sporting events..
Self regulation does work and work well on BIRD

Basically what I am saying is that while all the other sections are great and folk more or less use each sub forum as per, on this one, for some reason, it has all got turned around and folk do not stick to the original ideas.

As there is very little Automotive sports at the moment & many people have put their own bikes away for the winter can we use this as a Football section? that way it doesn't get left idle to go rusty.
Say leave it as strictly Automotive during Moto GP/WSB/F1 season & open it up to other sports ie Football/Rugby [and I'm not a Rugby fan but I'm happy to compromise] the rest of the time.

seems to me if I see a post from Derek and it's football time, I do one of two things 1st ignore it, unless there's a big reaction "like on this thread" or 2nd ignore it, as it's probably drivel "like on this thread" either way, it's not taken seriously "UNLESS" it's in the help section, and then only because I want a laugh at his downfall!! h1d1ng2

Well ulitmately it is down to the users of course, so if you lot do not mind then so be it..

In fact I should be happy cos I can now point at this section when folk want a car section and say nope, cos look what happened here..
