Wasn't it?
And it's fair to say "I'm knackered !!"
Had a lengthy chat with JAWS after you'd all departed - about how successful the weekend had been and how we can improve things to make it even better next year :-
1] Catering facilities - we let ourselves down a bit in this department I'm afraid. For next year the format will be:
Chinese Buffet on Friday night...................
Pub BBQ/meal [subject to weather] on Saturday night
3 couse sit down Celebration Dinner and Prize Giving in the Clubhouse on Sunday night....................
2] Washroom/toilet facilities - we've taken on board the point raised about this. Whilst we should accept that this is a Rugby Clubhouse - therefore a bit limited - there is no excuse for uncleanliness! Next year - we will inspect the washroom facilities prior to the BASH and get it sorted!
3] Proposed BASH 2004 dates - we have already provisionally booked this venue for 2004 but a week earlier.
Several reasons for this:-
Avoid co-inciding with TT finals week - which we know prevented at least 20 members coming to the BASH as they were already committed to the Isle of Man
It will be a Bank Holiday weekend therefore we can have a full day's activities on the Sunday day/evening with people departing on the Monday morning rather than drifting away on the Sunday
There wil lprobably NOT be a rugby match over the Bank Holiday which means that we will have the "exclusive" use of the grounds and clubhouse
4] Flexability - we are proposing that the format for 2004 will be more flexible so that people can "do their own thing" on the Sunday. It's been suggested that we organise a couple of outside meeting points for the mass to assemble [if they want] so that people will have more of an opportunity to ride their bikes - either scratching in smaller groups on some fantastic Norfolk lanes or a more leisurely group ride out with your pals! We could all meet up at pre-set times during the day before all congregating for a Celebration Dinner on the Sunday evening.
5] Identification - next year we will have laminated name badges so that everyone has, at least, a fighting chance of knowing who the hell they are talking to!!
Any further suggestion would be gratefully received
Thanks to all of you for getting stuck in and making the 2003 BASH the best one yet!!
Here some the pics....................feel free at add your own
