WARNING for all car drivers,

I received this and feel it may be a timely warning to city dwellers and car drivers,

ALL CAR OWNERS AND CAR DRIVERS, PLEASE READ Warning!!!!

Be aware of new car-jacking scheme.

You walk across the car-park, unlock your car and get inside. Then you
lock all your doors, start the engine and shift or put into REVERSE, and
you look into the rear-view mirror to back out of your parking space and
you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. So,
you shift the gear stick back into park or neutral, unlock your doors
and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that
is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car that is
when the car-jackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take
off!! Your engine was running, you would have left your purse in the car
and they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.

BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED IN LONDON/MANCHESTER
MAKING ITS WAY UP HERE!!!!!!!! Just drive away and remove the paper
later! It is stuck to your window and be thankful that you read this
email. I hope you will forward this to friends and family especially to
women! A purse contains all identification, and you certainly do NOT
want someone getting your home address. They already HAVE your keys!!!
JUST BE AWARE AND TAKE CARE IT WILL PROBABLY SOON ARRIVE IN YOUR AREA

There are loads of tricks they employ to 'jack' ya car.

1)Bump it gently at the lights so you pull over and get out.
2)Show fake police ID (like mine  ) to get people to pull over at the lights.
3)Wait on your driveway behind a bush or wheely bin etc when you get home and simply take the keys from you.
Distraction 'jacking' where somebody crosses the road in-front of you and then drops something causing you to stop and focus on what they are doing whilst someone else runs upto your window and smashes it in causing a momentary loss of concentration.

The paper on the window seems a little gentle for a jacking team, especially as 1) If it was a blokes car he'd not fall for it. and 2) If it were a womans car then she'd not have looked in the mirror anyway until she was on the motorway and ready to apply her last coat of lip gloss.

another thing you have to watch out for mainly in london, birmingham and manchester is where gang members drive around without their lights on,this is an initiation into the gang, the first person to flash them will get chased and the gang members will shoot their guns at the person who flashed them not caring if they kill the person ,we were warned of this at work,i havnt heard of this happening but we were warned as it may spread to other areas

Hijacking

One of my lads had his van hijacked last week in Radcliffe in Manchester - gets out the van and a lad runs at him with his right hand inside his jacket - " f*** off or you get this" or words top that effect and drives off in John's van. I have told them to let them have the vans - I can replace them - it very inconvenient but I would sooner lose a van than one of my lads!

This has been doing the rounds for years as an "urban myth". I don't think it's ever happened but it surfaces at regular intervals.

as it happens a dumb blonde was here last night and told us of a couple of lads trying to get into peoples cars in "the Ridings" shopping centre last week, so she will now lock her doors "just in case"!!! so hoax or not, it MAY have prevented one crime and certainly hasnt hurt anyone in it's passing!! :dunno:

LOL !! I know I should not have done it, but some of you will proly remember an incident at petrol station last year which will kinda indicate how I get when confronted :p

About a year ago someone ran at me in a similar manner.. I stuck my hand inside my jacket and screamed at the top of my voice..

Oh yer.. bring it you ( various swear words of a descriptive nature ) I been itching to try this out on someone..

He stopped dead.. considered for a moment why I was not afraid and what a loony old fart was likely to be carrying that would stop him from running or whatever.. turned around and bolted !

When that red mist falls folks.. jaws lives up to the name ! LOL !!!

Dont get me wrong.. I have trouble beating up a paper bag, but by gum I shout a good fight ! b0x1

I was challenged in 2004 whilst driving Emma's Fiesta. A lad on an off road motorcycle was infront of me in a residential street, as we came to a narrowed part of the road he braked causing me to stop. Within a few seconds the car was surrounded by local hoodies and 1 had his hand on the door handle, at this point i rapidly exited the vehicle and tried to grab this lad but he ran.
The others scattered and i found myself running 100 meters from the car chasing these eejits.
They must have had as much of a shock at me getting out and standing up for myself as i got with them trying it b0x2

They have NO BOTTLE these scum.
