Okay you teckies out there, how do I do this?

I want to capture a section of footage off a dvd to include it into a powerpoint presentation. I'm okay with all the powerpoint stuff, its the capture of the dvd footage I cant do.

I want to be able to play the dvd on my pc and grab the bits I need by saving then to my hard drive/s. Then I want to convert them into a mpeg/ avi/wmf file for use in the powerpoint.

What do I need to do this?

Oh,. and no hijacking the thread please, its important to me that I get the right info as quickly as possible.

Cheers - Buzz

Zoffo.

Thanks for that but it wont do it I'm afraid.

I use Pinnical Studio 9 for all my DVD compilations, which does exactly the same as avsmedia. Both grab from an external source and then you can do what you want with the files.

However, I'm not using an external source this time, its internal.

What I need is something that will grab as I play a dvd on my computer's dvd player. Unfortunately Pinnical and AVS wont do that.

Any ideas?

Its called a DVD ripper... Just do a searh on download.com and download any one you need...

You can then capture any section you want & convert it to whichever format you need & put it into your presentation.
