Liverpool goal ruled out for offside, van Djyk receives the ball (offside) several passes ensue then it comes to Gakpo who puts the ball in the net, var says offside, a few weeks back, handball, runs with the ball passes, goal against Leeds, Var say incident too far back to check

the Liverpool one was moments before the ball went in.

According to the reporters it touched about five people before going in the net.
clutching at straws derek.

Its all about ‘phase of play’, look it up in the Laws.

van Dijk in offside position (not an offence) while ball played by a team mate, ball hits opponent and goes to van Dijk in an offside position ,
van Dijk plays the ball (that makes him ‘active’ (an offence) ) to a team mate who scores. All in same ‘phase of play’.

The end.

What happened to the rule that if it came off an opposition player it’s not offside?.
Not clutching at straws as our fate is sealed & despite var we simply have not been good enough since beating Liverpool, my complaint is that var is being used as a tool to fix results, how is it that Bamford had a goal disallowed because his hand was offside yet West ham’s third goal was clearly offside, I would bet even your beloved Ref watch couldn’t argue.

That rule disappeared years ago, it’s all about the intent or otherwise of the defender when they make contact with the ball.

I am flabbergasted that the Everton and Leicester games have been brought forward to 3pm for tv on Sunday with Leeds staying at 4:30.

I am flabbergasted too. Where did you get that information?

Yes that's what I thought. Wouldn't be fair to change the kick off times.

Good job you’re not the ref
inn fairness to me sky sports news listed Sundays fixtures in the right hand screen bar with the heading ‘4:30pm’. The Everton and Leicester games had 3pm next to them, presumably the time the coverage starts.

So not my fault.
