Just come back from there.....
Good day and very, very busy..... lots of folks. Looked to me to be bigger crowd than last year although there were also much more grandstands around the place.
For those that have never been it's a great day out.
No charge to get in, walk around the pits or use the grandstands. As it's in the town centre you use the numerous food stalls for grub or the local cafes, McD's or pubs.
Quite a few stalls selling gear etc. & tools.
Yamaha, Kawasaki, BMW, Ural, Aprillia dealer stands (most actually the manufacture display wagons).
Bikes of all ages taking part in the speed trial from the really old right up to the latest gear. Anything from roads bikes to racing stuff.
Parking is real easy for bikes as you can basically park anywhere that day and the main pedestrian town centre area is also used for bike parking. Cars find it trickier but there are some car parks quite near where you can get space..... if you know where to look!!
Bikers Oracle had a stand (saw badknee from the VFR site there but he was busy drumming up support from folks).
Saw a couple of birds in the car park I used. Talked to one red bird owner who said he lived in Northwich but only did small mileage. Encouraged him to have a look here.
Also also a black bird with top box + back rest and fairing loouvre grills. It looked familair? Didn't see the owner though.
Also saw matt bird with silver lowers and 2003 bash sticker parked by the bank.
So for anyone who's not been it's a brilliant day out. Get large number of bikes/crowds, plenty to see and browse around. Food prices are not rip off (the pub near McDonalds was doing chips etc for 99p!!). It's as much fun looking at the various bikes that turn up as looking at the racing.
I've been for the last three years and intend going again next year.
The event this year was sponsored by e-bike. The local council fully support it and sort out road closures etc. and in recent years it's been noticed that they've been paying extra attention to the parts of the surface where the racing actually takes place - which is actually in one of the large town centre car parks!!!!. The local M&S car park is also given over to grandstand/stalls.
