Had mine taff't,

about 5mm lower front with heavier fork oil and the usual spacer on the rear. When funds allow I will be going to new front and rear bouncy bits as the difference the minor changes have made is amazing.

Just fitted new front fork springs and rear shock supplied by BlackbirdSpares
Fitted the 95 newton front springs with 10sae oil. The results are great, rides over bumps much better. The ride hight has increased so have lowered the forks in the yokes by 5mm.
At the rear fitted the K-tech rear shock with a 170 newton spring. Once set up it's great. The best ?380 I've spent on a bike.

Just for info I weigh 92Kgs, if anyone is thinking of fitting the rear shock I am more than willing to let you know the settings.

I fooked mine up myself...........just got used to it the way it is, if i get rid then i'll pay for the next man to be set up on it by Maxton.

have been running it for over a year with the previous owners set up. Have always been quite happy with it as it always leaned in quite well and I was always in the fast groups on the road during ride outs, but I think shes still got more to offer.

the biggest improvement I'd be looking for is to stop it running wide when opening the throttle on the apex.
would raising the rear or dropping the front help this. The bike has a fully adjustable set up.
I deffinately think there is more grip to be offered from the front, I've just knackered a BT011 on the front in 2,400 mls the middles brand new but the sides are well and truely gone. is this normal most of the riding has been 1 up fast A and B roads.

I've read about the improved grip offered by the Vipers could a front be used with a BT020 rear.

Apparently, Mr Honda decided that the "average European", weighs in at around 13? stone (or 85Kg in foreign money).

No wonder a lot of the guys on here are having "issues" with suspension !

:} :lol: :} :lol: :} :lol: :}

Bouncey Bouncey!

Glad i found this one! Im 12 stone and have just picked up the new Bird, I found the setup real hard on the back too and it jarred the missus back!! I have set it to soft (fully turned to the left) to experiment in small doses.

Any advice welcomed???

Steve, you are not adjusting anything bar the rebound damping I am afraid.. You need to get the tank up and a c spanner on the rings on the top of the shock.. Adjust them UP until you have about 1/2" of thread under the bottom one.. Try that..
Reset the rebound damping to just a little clockwise from its central point.

suspension

I've ridden 102,000 kms on original suspension and decided to upgrade. From Jaws a set of 100 mm over springs, spacers and pre-loadadjusters. From Penske an adjustable remote rear shock. Braided brake lines as well. I'll retreave the bike on Tues. When the rain finally stops I'll test ride her and report back. I'm looking forward to a different bike than she was prior to the mods. I expect it to ride very smooth and drop into corners and hold a line.
