Took my old Bandit 1200 for its Mot yesterday at my local bike
emporium and in amongst the usual second hand stuff was a 2012
Bmw S1000rr superbike. It looked gorgeous in Motorsport white with
blue and red flashes. Some carbon extras a Wunderlich aftermarket seat
and 11000 miles on the clock.
I had a sit on it expecting it to be all head down and arse up torture and
instead found it to be quite sports tourerish and not much different to my Bird.
Harry the owner threw the keys at me and told me to take it for a spin while he
did my bikes Mot...well it would have been rude not to wouldnt it.
The bike turned out to be a complete pussycat through the town traffic and the
acceleration was seriously impressive as was the handling and brakes. 180 to 190
odd horse power in a bike the size and weight of a 600 ..go figure. Apparently the real
mayhem doesnt arrive until you have seven or eight thousand on the tacho..but even below
that it went like the clappers.Even wheeling it around it felt flyweight compared to the
bruisers that I ride. I reckon one of these would make a great solo high speed tourer..tank bag and
tail pack and bobs your uncle
Anyway H tells me that a deal can be done against a couple of my old bikes no problem and the ball
is in my court..More sleepless nights! I wasnt even looking to buy another bike.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience or opinions on these.
Oh and the Bandit passed its Mot too...
