Tension building up as Flyball reaches the quarter final stage.

My money is on either Aces or Storm Chasers for the title.

Wouldn’t watch or support anything to do with the British kennel club, same reason BBC dropped them, their cruel stance encouraging the mutation of the Cavalier King Charles, head too small for it’s brain causing severe & constant agony.

Remember the hip dysplasia and spinal problems the German Shepherd breed suffered from for years due to the breeding in of the "show crouch"..?
The breed still has a high prevalence of both and the Kennel Club were complicit by ignoring it.

It was the same in the Newfoundland breed. Certain breeders were breeding oversized dogs for fashion (as if they needed bigger Newfies....).
That led to generations of over large Newfies with weak hearts because they bred them too quickly for the heart to to cope.
Those twats at the KC turned a blind eye to that too until it was too late.

Regardless of above watching fixated dogs having a great time chasing tennis balls while frequently ignoring the rules is great entertainment.

It is entertaining, but I've never met such a bunch of snobbish and bitchy people. They put some of the show breeders to shame... and that's saying something.

I took one of my assistance dogs there once to do a few tricks and raise some funding. Which we did very successfully.

All I had all day was breeders telling me why my Labrador didn't reach the "breed standard". Poncy load of wankers. My Labrador can react to me taking a fall, fetch a blanket and cover me and then go and pull the string on the medic alert to summons assistance. So you lot can all fuck off.

As you might have gathered I won't be going again.

Years ago when I still had Newfs our local group were invited by Crufts to provide some examples of "real owners and their dogs" for their "Meet the Breed" part of the show.
At the start of the day a couple of officials came round to inspect and had deemed us fit to meet the public.
Sometime around midday they came around again and were less than happy because the dogs were looking a bit unkempt. Specifically they were drooling because by then it was getting hot and being Newfs, they are messy drinkers and had been at the bowls quite a lot.
We'd also taken the view that members of the public who were interested in acquiring a Newfoundland should see them warts and all (as a rescue group we'd seen a lot of dogs returned because people had no idea what they had let themselves in for when buying a pup).
The KC officials weren't too happy about this but we insisted.

Needless to say we didn't get invited back and wouldn't have gone if they had.

Well my two tips both crashed out at the quarter final stage.

In a massive upset Watson’s Legacy, a team comprised solely of border collies from Stoke on Trent, overcame the red hot favourites, champions of the last two years and world record holders (14.37 seconds) - Road Runner Beep Beep from Belgium. The Belgians crumpled in the final with their first dog refusing to run in the first leg then committing a crossover foul in the second.

Never saw that coming.
