umm - aiming for north of London then going south - Cambridge / Milton Keynes / oxford ?? That sort of direction, then I can head south onto M4 for getting home.

Look - that was a very generalised direction thing c7u8 - should probably have been North of London as I have no wish to go into London on the way home!!!

Just looked at a map to find some places in the general direction of!!!! Once they turn to go back east, I'll set the TomTom and get going! :k

I know - but we aren't all as silly as that (well, I don't hink I am!)!!!!!!!!! I managed to drive buses for a few years without getting lost!!! (Mind it was only on a small island - Guernsey!!!)


I had a lorry driver ring the office cos he was lost - big artic - really really tiny lane. Only trouble was he couldn't tell me where he was so I could advise cos he'd been following the satnav and not taking any notice of the surroundings? :dunno: c7u8

I was told you was gonna go to Norwich Smix, then we was going to head off to Peterborough via the nice bits of twisty..

Seems that is not on the cards any more so unless someone comes up with a plan ....

As we could be heading West'ish, and as Smixxy will be travelling from Norwich, John perhaps we should pick you up at yours on the way through... So Smixxy if we head for one of the following... your choice...

a. NW London M25... Watford direction (then you have M25/M4 home)

b. Bedford... then you have oxford direction home

c. Peterborough... then you have M6/M42/M5 home.

Regretfully once you hit the A11 its pretty shite for route a & b

d. A11/A14/M6/M42/M5 is about 210 miles to gloucester.

Make your choice Smixxy and we'll plan something around it.... assuming the others have no objections... I don't think you want to add much to your journey as you have a fair run as it is.

Rutland water could be a target if you go via A14... and Mtk can have a Mr Softie.. (Rutland is near Kettering).

Not until I have spoken to Smix/Mtk, and they have seen the above routes,,,but would guess around 10.30am ish, I also suggest (Mtk/Smix) that we go via Watton to Thetford.....

Definitely not the M25! And being south of Bristol, the M6 isn't good either!!!!!!!!!!

D looks good as far as Milton Keynes (see Valhalla, not that far out!!).

To be honest guys I'm really not too bothered as long as we are going WSW ish, and avoiding the M25! then when you lot turn back I can get home!

Jaws - I'm leaving from Norwich on Sunday to go home to south of Bristol!!


Not too fussed about setting out time - 10.30 sounds good?
