you are not capable
it depends on a few things really....your height, carrying a pillion etc.i'm 5ft11ins and have an FFabri D/B screen fitted and find it really good.others will recommend different types/makes of screen, but it's down to personnal choice really.there's also the MRA vario...an adjustable screen which quite a few on here rate very highly.i'm sure others will be along shortly with their recommendations/preferences.you could also contact jaws(of jaws motorcycles)whom is one of the site admin and a top allround guy,who would surely point you in the right direction.his details are available through his website at........

www.jaws-motorcycles.com

lots of goodies to pamper your P+J on there too.enjoy your bird and welcome to the forums.

I'm 5'8'' and the Pyramid double bubble that Jaws supplied gives more protection to me and smooths out the airflow for the pillion. The only downside is that there's slightly more load on the wrists as the air resistance on the chest is lower.

I use the ffabri double bubble and am quite happy with it.....now... did have a problem with melting clocks but have solved that.... the new ones are darker anyway and don't seem to have the problem.

I have only had my 98 BB for a couple of weeks now and the previous owner had fitted an aftermarket tinted screen - sort of a flat double bubble ( not as big a bump as some I have seen ) don't know the brand and the first thing that I noticed was that the airflow was moved from my chest to over my face/helmet, does not seem to have caused any problems though - no buffetting just an increased flow of air. One thing I did notice was that there was more weight on my wrists at 110kmh highway speeds though ( I am 6" and 135kg ) not too bad for 65km/50 min trips but I think I will definately get either some bar risers or VTECH bars.

For those of you who complain about weight on your wrists after fitting a higher screen, you might not want to hear this but, stop being idle.

Take the weight off your wrists by gripping the tank with your knees and use your back muscles more. Soon your back will strengthen to the point where you dont have excess weight on your wrists.

Your arms should loose when gripping the bars, not have the full weight of your body on them, it makes it more difficult to turn the bars and the bike wont handle so well, plus you dont get such good feedback off the bike when leaning on it. You can also start to turn the bike with your knees and not your arms.

Good advice but since I ruptured the L4 disc in my back about 4 years ago I dont have the strength in my back that I used to have and have also got an old problem with carpal tunnel in my hands, now I know I could have gone for something like an ST1100 but they just weren't as much fun and were a bit too upright for my liking:dunno:
