This is a subject with a million answers. Everyone you will talk to will do it differently and all will say their way is better. Example: New Bird. Book advice pay extra attention to how you ride during the first 300 miles. During this period avoid full throttle starts and rapid acceleration.

Shop advice; Do not exceed 4500rpm first 300 miles, then upto 6000 for the next 300.

Various on-line sites: quick acceleration/deceleration in 1st, 2nd, 3rd gear up to 4000 rpm. repeat up to 6000 then 8000. Replace oil at 20 miles then ride as normal.

Basic answer take in all advice and choose your option.c7u8

Main thing to avoid is overloading the engine. ie too low revs ...too wide a throttle opening.....keep it simple for the first few hundred miles then rev the sh1t out of it. oil change a 600 miles! Talk to Jaws if in doubt!
