Hi Nige ... What a great year 1965 was !!

Loom fix ??
Fuses?
Is it turning over and not firing OR not turning over ?
Battery charged ?
Earthed properly ??
Kill switch, side stand etc etc

Work backwards from what you fixed??
What did you do?

Hi Nige
Does the fuel pump prime when the ignition is turned on.

Yes! You should be able to hear it if I remember correctly. :-0)

you do remember correctly@tu*

As mentioned above a lot more detail would help here - does the dash show signs of life, fuel pump priming, turning over, etc.

If none of above, check the main fuse.......

He does say it will not fire, Andy, which suggests it is turning over! :-0)

Its spinning over just doesnt fire, I think its fuel related , the pump makes no noise, its like its not priming, ungrateful bloody thing! Ive spent a fortune on it!! I will have a look agai tomorrow but ive done so many things since I rode it home I dont know where to begin, will hopefully keep you posted if I can sort it thanks n

Strange !!
Is there fuel in it ??
Have known people have that problem when they rebuilt cars ... They forgot about the simplest things ...
Do you have a spark?
check the pump feeds ?

Any warning lights when you switch on the ignition ie F1 light flashing etc etc

Tip .... When doing stuff on a bike .. Check make sure all is well at each stage !

My bike had the same symptoms although not after a rebuild, just out of the blue. The loom fix sorted that.

Not saying that's definitely the cause, but one to check at least!

If the loom fix hasn't been done it's the first thing to look at. It can throw up so many faults it's untrue.
If the pump isn't priming it isn't worth pressing the starter button. It won't be the side stand switch because it would still prime.
Check the connections under the seat to the fuel tank.
My first injection bike broke down and unfortunately it was the ECU, however apparently it's quite rare for them to fail.

For what it's worth try not to get suckered into thinking it is something really complicated; it sounds like you have done a ton of work on it - a pound to a penny says it is going to be something daft!!

I see you have checked the kill switch already............you have got fuel in it, haven't you.... and you have checked that you have reconnected the multiplug(s?) if you removed the tank...................

Keep posting........ if nothing else it will hopefully give us a laugh when the cause is found:-0)
