OK heres the serious bit as I'm trying to gauge interest.
Northern France is a nightmare with all the D Day celebrations so what about Germany to coincide with a local wine festival?
Depart 2 September return 6 September
Hotel with full (pool, sauna, tennis etc) facilities near the Nurburgring
Boat trip with firework festival
In and out from Dover/Calais
Cost is ball park ?450/?550 per person.

Is it a yes or is it a no?

Sorry mate

original idea was a long weekend in France, but Germany does not appeal, so count me out; besides we poor accountants can't afford these extravagant 4 day breaks  :B

Sorry Bob

We were already planning on a France trip so it worked out well, but we still want to do France and can't afford another, especially as we also have a Belgian rally on in May and a Netherlands one in October. Have to count us out as well.

Not up for this

We are not interested in going to Germany either, but as you missed us off the list of interested parties to go to France I don't suppose it matters very much does it!

Another stab at it..............................

The dates I have in mind are:
20 ~ 23 August
or
10 ~ 13 September
or
17 ~ 20 September

What about just prebooking travel across the Channel and following our noses around France?

8l1nd :h

Sorry Bob~~~

but............

20 ~ 23 August coincides with National OAP's Weekend jaunt into Amsterdam

10 ~ 13 September coincides with EEC Summit on "Cross Political Party" vote rigging

and

17 ~ 20 September coincides with Reefers Birthday and we wouldn't want to miss out on his party! Now would we????

sorry bob, sounds like blockbusters.............

its a little out of our price range I am afraid.

There are some very nice roads in Germany though. Why don't you head to the belgium ardennes??? Off there this long weekend. Staying in a little hotel in Han sur lesse, and spending the days whizzing round the long sweepers and hairpins.

Oh yes Joe you can come.............

if you join Rospasussex

Not your cup of tea methinks!!!!!!!!! Although, they are definately not a stuffy lot!!!!!!! Its serious riding, as in as many bends etc as they can fit into a day!!!!!!!

Starting 8.30am and finishing around 7pm. Resonably priced too. They organise the hotel, which is comfortable and has good food. Dinner B&B which works out about ?70 per night for the two of us. Thats a four course dinner! Stones throw from the good roads too.

Owner takes cash only............... But this is the deal that he gives the group every time. Low price for cash

You just organise your ferry/tunnel crossing. Meet at the petrol station 'on the other side', then off they go. Plenty of coffee stops, food etc.

I guess you will just have to swallow your anti advanced riding feelings :k

I can't stand bends, that's why this year I'm riding the LENGTH of the Pyrenees  :} know all the decent twisties in Surrey and Sussex and despise track days (doh!)

I'm not anti-advanced riding :dunno: even done a bit myself, just don't enjoy the regimented organised ride out aspects I've experienced in the past :t and the fact they mostly ride sloooooowwww BMW's (that was joke :} ) However, I did dislike the air of superiority they all seem to share, but then again, perhaps it was just the mob I met :xm
