as i am getting a new tyre I thought i would try out the GRYP puncture kit that i have carried around under the seat for ages . I drove a screw into the tyre , removed it and let the tyre deflate, following the insuctions I reamed the hole out ready to accept the cord covered in adhesive, pulled the cord through the bodkin /needle but could I get the cord through the hole , could I fuck .so I would advise people not to buy one of these types ,I think gryp do have other types of puncture kits but this type from my experiance is rubbish .the typei am referring to comes in a carry-case with plyers, air cartridges ,reaming tool.core inserting tool and several cords coated with adhesive. do'nt buy this type

Puncturesafe

Hi, I have been using Ultraseal / now called puncturesafe for many years. I personally recommend it in the rear wheel only where nearly all punctures occur. Then one ?20 cannister will do 2 sets of tyres. It really works and is better to use a preventative than repair the thing in the cold dark rain at 4 am!

Google it shows some videos of it being tested

Good luck

i use the BMW kit, which sounds similar to yours with a reamer and a rubber plug. it works really well. must be the only good thing BMW do. ive repaired about five or six of my friends bikes whille out on runs all worked well, until i got a puncture and the hole was to big to repair, hey ho sutch is life. were about seventeen quid from any bm dealership.

Rema tip top kits. As supplied to BMW. And all the ones i've fitted have stayed in until the tyres worn out.

As for the ultra seal stuff, my Pan had it in both wheels when I got it, I have to say that stuff is disgusting, it gets everywhere when you have to change the tyres next time, makes the job harder as everything gets so slippery.

And how to invalidate your insurance with an awful lot of companies. ( at last and thank goodness )

Due to the problems highlighted by accident report teams up and down the country ( the stuff causing a massive imbalance during a fast acceleration ) a fair few now take the same view as I and many others in the trade have taken for many years.. Its bloody lethal in bikes
