hehe interesting reading..

so its the rider not the bike then ???

I wonder why when Rossi and his crew first moved to Yamaha the very first thing they did was to bin the existing chasis and build a new one exactly to the spec of the Honda.. rake trail geometry ..the lot.. They had all the info and specifications needed so they did it .. you need a package to win a championship, rider - machine- tyres and a fair bit of luck..
Rossi is not having it all his own way at the moment and he is having to win races under a different kind of pressure from what he is used ..from behind... and failing..
The bike only blew at Laguna due to Rossi killing his tyres and having to go too slow and the engine overheated... because of rider error in quali and the race he left himself too much to do.. he cant blame the tyres because the race winner was on the same rubber.. b0x1

I have a tenner on with my mates for Hayden to win the championship this year because Ive felt from the off that no one carry carry the amount of good luck that Rossi has had over the last few seasons

The fat woman aint singing yet tho .. only takes a little off in practice and pick up an injury and its game on all over again :yo:

COME ON NICKY b0x2

OH-hhhh, Mob-handed are we?Just like Honda?!!

No matter. ?Twill soon be remedied!

I note with interest the emotional ties to the past that bind my venereal friends and I?(DOH!?! Sorry!)?that bind my venerable friends ? but I must insist that my vision remains clear and unimpaired as ever it was. Pray, your indulgence, most honourable gentlemen.

Equation 1:Rossi+Honda=?bloke on best bike always wins?=?It's not him - it's the bike/boring? (Graphite.ES)

Equation 2:Rossi+Yamaha=?bloke on worst bike always wins?=?It's not him - it's Burgess/boring? (Graphite.ES)

Equation 3:Rossi+YamaHonda=bloke on best bike always wins=?It's not him - it's the chassis/boring? (Oldbull (apparently!))

Reluctantly accepting the ludicrous assertion that Rossi et al had complete, free and unlimited access to Honda?s chassis data, why in the world would they utilise that data for two, blindingly successful years and then ditch it to build a ?completely new M1??

I await your response with interest (and some mirth!). :neenaw:

However, if we were to accept that Yamaha had successfully stolen the patented intellectual property of the Honda Racing Corporation (without a murmur from the Big ?H?, of course!), then an entirely new, and much more feasible equation may be formulated:

Equation 4: Rossi+YamaHonda=?Level playing field?=Rossi blows ?em away! It?s the rider ? not the bike! (Then, of course, Yamaha say: we don?t need to win three titles in a row - let?s balls it up!?) (Skee-hee!! Yeah-hhh, right!!!)

The level of impact generated by Rossi was, quite simply, unattainable in the days prior to the popular availability of satellite TV, the Internet and other world-wide communication facilities too numerous to list here. All of these offered a tremendous (and measurable) boost in consumer knowledge, product desirability and, of course, sales and participation. No single rider, or group of riders, has generated similar levels of interest in motorcycling in the general public, race fans, the media and world-wide commerce as Valentino Rossi (as previously and correctly stated!). In the UK, it?s all too easy to play the ?numbers? game in terms of attendances, however (as you well know), MotoGP rounds are ?sold out? at most European venues well in advance of the events. Huge numbers of British fans are reluctant to go to the British GP at Donington with its scandalously poor spectator facilities ? if not for Rossi even I wouldn?t bother!

The 2006 M1 is patently (sic) not the same bike as the 2005 model yet, despite four DNF?s and riding injured, Rossi remains the biggest threat to Hayden?s bid for the championship! Hayden, Pedrosa, Stoner, Melandri ? even HONDA - all have stated that ?Rossi is the best?. Such an endorsement of Rossi?s unmatched talent comes from the very company that nurtured Hailwood, Doohan and the rest. The same comes from his nearest and fiercest competitors, named herein. The diversionary mention of ?cars? (a machine born of foul necessity, if ever there was one), and attempts to inflame the discussion by claiming that Rossi cannot manage his tyres will be struck from the record: such remarks must disregarded by the jury!

In summary: Rossi is ?The Man?, championship or not, because the honour is bestowed upon him by his greatest rivals. :-:

Let this be my final judgement, although the honourable gentlemen may seek leave to appeal to a higher court! b0x1

I was going to address you as ?gentlemen?, however, your comments on Mr. Rossi?s alleged sexuality (your unsubstantiated allegations, I might add) and your complete dismissal of his talent as a motorcycle racer fill me with nothing but disdain for your low-brow attitudes and coarse humour. If you cannot be objective in your assessment of Mr. Rossi?s prowess, then at least try to be accurate when expressing your worthless opinions in regard to his personal, private preferences. Henceforth, you may wish to refer to Valentino as:

The fastest fookin? shirt-lifter-mong on two wheels EVER!

Pedrosa

Hiya Eric

Yes I agree with you (!) apart from the Pedrosa thing.
The way I saw it was that Rossi was going well but Pedrosa still caught up and shadowed him for quite a few laps although you could see Rossi had the better tyres as Pedrosas bike was sliding all over the place. I think Dani gave it his best shot but gave up as he knew his tyres had gone, he must have surmised Rossi's tyres were in a better condition, so remembering what happened earlier in the season when he (Pedrosa) tried too hard and came off the bike and trailed in 11th he did right thing and played safe, and as that daft old git tells us 'Points Make Prizes'
In the last laps if Dani had as good tyres as Rossi I'm sure Dani would have passed Vale and stayed in front. To be honest I dont think Pedrosa is too fazed by Rossi anymore and has the savvy to watch and learn from the more experienced rider until he can beat him at his own game.
Hayden...just had shit day.

Is it just a coincidence that the name 'Rossi' can be made from 'maripossa' .. I think not.. Waddya think DS??

Funny thing...........Loris won by a country mile ( well done ) but
( I believe ) the overall race time was only 6/10 ths faster than
2005...........comments

I asked local opinion and was told .........

Yer right Gats, Loris did have a goodun!
But on local opinion I think the second word on the second line is spelt wrong :p
I think Nicky just had a duff tyre, but still if he can win 1 more race I'm sure the balance will be back in his favor. Mr Ryder did say on Eurosport that Loris could be the one who decides the championship, and he could be right. p0pc0rn41.
PS Hope things are going well for you out there matey. Trudi sends her love and wonders where her emails you keep sending her are going 'cos she sure as hell ain't getting 'em!!?
