It's actually the Grumman X-29 flown as a NASA/DARPA/USAF test bed aircraft.
Photo attached is from NASA archives taken in 1991.

As you can see it has all sorts of odd appendages added to it....

Think I'll call it a night now and leave this one here for peeps to ponder on... loads of clues in it.....


It's actually one of my favourites... I think it looks quite "homely".

Even got some nice curtains..... bit plain though...... obviously not Bert's.

Wonder if anyone will guess the aircraft......

I reckon its Concorde judging by the shape of the window frames, with the nose lowered.

Is it another Antanov........ the AN 225 Mriya ?

The other one is Fireball XL-5. I know that cos it's me sat in the co-drivers chair.......

Lovely bit of kit.

Just to let you know, my main area of "gen" is RAF stuff. All my knowledge is based on magazines and model making based over 40 years accumulated experience. All of the IDs I had correct were based on the frame shapes of the windows! Sad maybe, but at least we saw off Bert PDQ!
