I went to look at another XX tonight after work, tiz a '52' plate in candy red with ANALOGUE clocks
Also the lower fork legs were painted silver and not mildly polished and clear coated like my last one..
I have seen 'Y' plate XX's with digital clocks, i'm just unsure about it.
The bike has covered 6k and is fully documented.

The bike is mint besides a wee scratch on the front guard and a tiny mark on the rear seat unit, the last owner was also a big fan of letting people know it had 'dual cbs & pgm f1' as there were stickers all over it, on the mirrors, 'Y' piece, front guard etc....... a few moments with a hot kettle would have those off.

I thought they went over to digital in 2000. I had a '03 which was digital.

If you need a tank cover for it i have one for sale. I bought it new last september for mine but due to issues I have covered on here previously it spent most of its life in a shop with 'issues'. I have now got rid of it and replaced it with a new '06 silver one, which is soooo much better to ride.

Don't know the answer to the analogue clocks, but it doesn't sound right, does it?

If it was me, I would walk away unless it was a very good deal, and/or I got an answer as to why it had the 'wrong' clocks.

Just my opinion of course...

I'm thinking very late registered, if thats the case then it needs to be a lot cheaper as the original purchaser would have got a good deal initially.

I think i'm gonna walk away, i've gotta think of re-sale value too.

Hi John,

Did it have CATS or not? the digi clocks and cats were brought out together. As for the fork legs, they stopped polishing the fork legs and just gave them a light coat of paint over a shot blasted finish, it seems a more reliable finish than the polished and laquered ones. Mine has all of the above and is an XX1.

Just had a look at the pictures.

it looks like an earlier model/late reg to me. It doesn't seem to have CATS and appears to have the flat screen rather than the slight double bubble on the late bikes.
the add is listing it as an XX2, which I doubt, you could do with looking at the sticker on the subframe or the VIN before going any further.

Can you check the frame number with Honda UK? They might be able to tell you when it was imported at least :dunno:

Don't worry about the clocks m8, it's the same model as my first Bluebird, as Stuey says, early model but late reg, just as mine was.
It had me going as well as I was under the impression it was supposed to be a digital dash:dunno: , think it JAWS that put me right.:yo:
Got ?3000.00 back on trade in when I got the new one which was last december, hope this helps.

Ive been looking at a similar one in Jim Allans in falkirk same colour 16k 51 plate and same price ?5495. I asked why this had anologue clocks? and sales berk tells me he didnt know what year it changed, but was confident it was after this bike was registered:rolleyes: .
They were a Honda dealer until 18 months ago? And he was the lead sales guy there then! ( I think I smell shite somewhere along the way)

5+1/2 grand seems a little rich even for a proper one.

Walk away John there's plenty out there.

Methinks that is a very late 2001 that dates to the very cusp of the changeover to digi clocks .. Hence the painted forks ( which are now standard John )

They changed to digi dash either VERY late in 2001 or more likely 2002.. I have been told it was 01 but I have never ever seen an 01 bike with digi dash ( that aint been retro fitted that is )

Way too dear - i'm in Ireland and last December was able to source -through this site- a 04 in England with 4k for the same money. I bet it wont be long before the Blade wannabees will be along offering their XXs at good money

Tis true Jaws, mine's an O1 with digi dash and cats, plus all the other tiny changes they made.
Seems to me that this one is defo a late reg early model at too much money.
