When Bev had to have an MRI she couldn’t do it, literally petrified, when I had mine I found it really peaceful & relaxing, Sarah had one & she said she found it relaxing as did Bev’s cousin, most other people we speak to find it weird that we found it so relaxing & peaceful.
What’s your experience?

It's one test that would really scare me as I get claustrophobia, they would have to sedate me

I found it very claustrophobic even though I do not usually suffer from claustrophobia, it was quite unsettling, and to be honest I could not wait to be out of it.

I was in it for about 40 minutes and it seemed like a couple of hours

Not something I want to particularly go through again.

Bev isn’t claustrophobic but the MRI terrified her, Doc’s gave her some sedative tablets to be taken 30 minutes before her scan, she took the tablets & was then told her scan was delayed an hour & a half, fortunately they had a larger machine that they put her in, some places have stand up scanners.

I've never had one but my wife was supposed to.

She was absolutely terrified of it and couldn't go through with it.

Just keep my eyes closed.
I opened my eyes first time and I was in the ring, v claustrophobic.

Mine was about 25 years ago and I found it to be extremely noisy and confining, and also I had to keep still for what seemed like hours - probably 45 minutes really. Not at all pleasant.

Did I mention it was noisy, uncomfortably noisy.

I found it quite relaxing. Was in there gorgeous about 75 minutes. The last 15 or so minutes were a bit uncomfortable but that was down to a bad back. Had Pink Floyd's 'welcome to the machine' going through my head for a lot of the time.

Noisy as feck. I'm claustrophobic (but only lying down) and I didn't enjoy the ones I had. It didn't help that they put a cage over me to keep me perfectly still.
Having said that, the last one I went for was a new machine and had a much larger aperature compared to the previous machines.

I've had many done in an open scanner, quite a few around the larger towns and cities.

I’ve had a few …
The full body one which everything barring my head was in the machine …. was the worst feeling! Plus my shoulders were a tad too wide so I was slightly scrunched !!
The machine whirring, banging and crunching noises are a little off putting too

How people can go pot holing and squeeze through tiny gaps in rocks into dark places often with water …. Just he thought of this is enough !

Knees and nether regions …. In the MRI, not a problem !

possibly the worst bit was listening to awful music
Was far better when there was no music

Had quite a few and although I am claustrophobic I actually don't mind the MRI's.

I was hired to take some photos to promote a cave many years ago. I went to the local library to have a look at a few caving books for inspiration. Mistake.... Just looking at some of pictures had me hyperventilating, the actual 'shoot' was not so bad as it didn't involve any 'tight' spots.

I've had quite a few. I'm not fussed either way but the noise drove me crackers; was like being stuck in a biscuit tin with a mob of wanking skeletons.

I’ve had a few and while I didn’t enjoy them I wasn’t overly bothered.

A s with many things in life if you go into a new situation but it has been explained to you what to expect those that struggle with this would probably find it easier.

Either way, it’s a piece of P compared to having an injection in the eyeball.

My biggest phobia is having my eyeballs messed with, hate that puff of air on eye tests

Rather that than them saying, “have you done this before? Nah, me neither”
