I know I do not post an awfull lot on the site. Generally, if I have nothing to say I keep quiet, pop in, have a read and a laugh, and pop out again.
Today I travelled 30 miles to have a new Avon Azaro rear tyre fitted. The old one had only done 6000 miles but had picked up a nail, dam but it looked good for another 2k :xm , and I was running on a temporary puncture repair plug. The tyre fitter told me there might be a problem. I had been present when he had ordered from Avon a 'B' specific Azaro for the Blackbird. A tyre had been delivered and the fitter thought that it might be the wrong one. He was unsure of where to find the 'B' marking.
As I am on a ferry on Friday en route to Cochem in the Mosel, I was desparate, but did not want the wrong tyre on as it could spoil my trip.
Unable to contact Avon on a Saturday afternoon, I was stumped, but only for a moment. Then I thought, ' but I know a man who knows this', phoned Jaws and got the right answer straight away.
Cheers John, you saved me spending on the wrong tyre.
Even in the middle of a Saturday afternoon - when he should be out playing on his bike, this guy is willing to help. Dedication or what!
Again, many thanks, and apologies for interupting your afternoon.
Ian
