Hi Greg
The Sierra Nevada is only an hour from us and the scenery either in the summer or winter is spectacular.. last weekend we rode with Dirty Sanchez and TFMS a couple of times to Jaen and also to the coast near Pedregalejo.. warm weather, long straights, uncluttered roads, sweeping bends, stunning scenery and cheap fuel, what better way to spend your time? Fortunately we live here but Sanchez comes over as much as possible.. stick us on the top of your 'to do' list.. last year we had two youngsters come from the Midlands for 10 days on a 600 Bandit.. they did the 1500 miles in 2 days- God Bless 'em!! Look at my signature below.. all the info you need is there!!
You can ask anything you want to know through my wife?s email addie on the advertising site.
We can provide secure bike parking and even show you round a bit.. the Ronda pass is often featured in bike mags.. there is not another road like it!

Cracking road the Ronda Pass, spent 7 months touring Spain last year in my Motorhome towing my old Transalp behind, especially enjoyed the old N340 that runs from Mojacar passed the Almeria Track onto toward Almeria, also over the other side passed Tarifa has some cracking roads but can be a tad windy, Top Banana!!!

Mind you the reason why this region has such good roads and motorways is EU money apparently.

Sorry guys slightly off topic but had to post it..

Just finished my observed rides and have put in for my test, can't knock what they teach, if you want to apply what you learn to going a bit quicker when safe to do so after the course it can only improve your obs skills, positioning and riding.

Hear Hear,

you should be looking to improve your skills for other reasons ie SELF preservation, to protect your loved ones (if you carry pillions), and how about pride. You just KNOW you can ride better than some of those knobbers out there! Oh yeah, and you can get some reduced premiums with some insurance companies.

I was 34 before I decided to take my DSA bike test. It was another 8 years before I decided to further my riding prowess. I exchanged a Volvo T5 for a Honda Pan European. Very BRIGHT livery on my work vehicle but Ho-Hum... I get paid for riding-Bliss.

On a serious note, from somebody whose seen fellow bikers bite the dust (and not always the bikers fault) go that little bit extra to protect yourself and yours. Do a bikesafe weekend, join the IAM, give yourself that extra edge......

go to go, the local shop keeper's looking for his soap box.

Regards,

Tellboy

Hi Guys,

Lumpy,Tellboy, you are exactly right about the insurance thing and i think it comes from a taking a different approach with certain people especially when you get out there and promote the course like we do at shows and events. What happens then is that you get bikers who have not heard of the IAM or even any sort of advanced riding! :dunno:

Some are attracted only by the thought of an insurance discount initially and very occasionally the odd person comes through to the start of the course still for just that reason. When they have finished the course you find that the insurance thing is the last thing on their mind (thats not to say the offer is still there) because they have gained so much more from their riding.

The insurance thing has got even better recently anyway as now you dont have to rely on your own insurer giving you say 10 or 15%. Adelaide insuarnce/IAM Surety are now offering specific IAM risk assesed qoutes based on whether you have done an assesment ride, are a trainee, member, observer or examiner. If you have done any of these, for a really decent quote go to:
http://www.adelaideinsurance.com/iam-surety.php
or 0845 603 1355

Right Tellboy have you got room for another soapbox down there? s04pb0x6
