And your point is??????
Moto gp like F1 is the pinnacle of the industry. This is where technology is showcased and at some point in time that tech will filter down to road bikes.
So who cares that the ducati is laden with tech. Fer fecks sake, get real.
Well...I think Stoner should care, for one ? here?s something else that came through today.
Ducati Aim to Run ?The Gauntlet?
In an astonishing about-face, a Ducati spokesman who had previously declined to comment further about the revolutionary technology utilised by Ducati?s MotoGP works team has escalated the war of words that is currently raging on the B.I.R. D. forum. In a preamble before reading from an official statement, the spokesman (who requested that his identity should remain confidential) expressed his personal outrage at the introduction, by Yamaha, of stabilisers for Valentino Rossi?s M1.
An official complaint to the sports governing body, made by Ducati, had been rejected on the grounds that no unfair advantage would be gained by Yamaha as Ducati were equally free to fit stabilisers to the Desmosedici of Casey Stoner. (It has since emerged that previous teams had inserted a clause into Stoner?s contract, stipulating that he should,
at all times, use stabilisers because he crashed so much. Fortunately, with the extra-wide tyres now supplied by Bridgestone and the technology provided by Ducati, his tendency to tip it into the litter seems to have receded somewhat.)
Turning to the official statement, the unnamed spokesman announced that Ducati had successfully developed a set of cybernetic gauntlets which, working in conjunction with the engine management system of the Ducati motorcycle, would exert muscular control over the hands and wrists of Casey Stoner, thus freeing him of the need to attempt to control either the speed or the direction of the bike. The spokesman vigorously denied, however, that a crash test dummy had been interviewed with a view to taking over from Stoner at Brno, adding that Stoner was ?much less talkative and easier to manage? than an experienced CTD which could well have formed complex preconceptions of its own that may be detrimental to test scenario outcomes: ?We need a blank canvass ? and Casey fits the bill!? he added.
Along the same developmental lines as the gauntlets, a similar set of cybernetic boots will take over Stoner?s braking and gear-changing duties. "We need someone to do the post-race interviews, said the spokesman ? and Casey is currently learning to repeat what we tell him to say: we?re very, very proud of him!?
So ? here in Cyberspace ? that?s as ?real? as it gets. :neenaw:
