I thought he might do when I heard of his off on Friday.

At his age ( no disrespect) but you dont bounce as well and it takes longer and longer to recover for injuries.

Top respect to him, he will be missed next year.

Yes a tenacious sort of rider, and the years are begining to tell as injuries take ages to heal........ will be missed though.
PS. But I still blame him for Hizlops crash which cost Steve the championship.

It was a missed gear-change that caused Hizzie's crash. Yes: it did cost Hislop the championship - but it was hardly intentional... :dunno:

While JR?s decision comes as no great surprise after the ?Brands Hatch battering? he took last week, the honour, honesty and integrity of the man remain untouched and untarnished. I always saw JR as the Clark Kent identity that hid Superman from an unsuspecting public: his alter-ego was only revealed when he donned racing leathers and climbed aboard a motorcycle. Even then, his racing philosophy was patently clear: race hard, race fair.

His consistently understated manner off the track only served to reflect his supreme consistency, in terms of effort and results, on the track. He proved his worth, time and time again, quietly, honestly ? and always with dignity.

You?ll be aching and wobbling for a while, yet, JR. When you?re healed you?ll have a wonderful career to look back on, a bright future to look forward to ? and a loving family with which to share your dreams. What a life!

You?ve earned it!

Thanks for the memories.

Hi DA
Well if he can't change gear properly he should take a bike test. LOL.
And I did not say it was intentional.... just his fault.
