I was thinking of using the gps on my iphone 5c, anybody recommend a good waterproof case & mounting kit, I have seen a couple but some are advertised for the 5s & state "not suitable for 5c" I thought there was no difference.

Any decent mountainbiking/cycling case will do.

I've tried a number of different types over the years - I found that most of the meaty, armoured, waterproof cases with integral mounts make it fiddly to use the phone and some of the real heavyweight ones can degrade satellite reception.

The best combination is a lightweight, waterproof case and a separate mounting kit to hold it.

I ended up using one of the Topeak Drybags for cycling. Cheap, waterproof and doesn't block satnav signals:

Something to bear in mind, heavy satnav use really eats the battery, so carry a powerpack to top up the phone if you're out for long.

personally If I didn't want to spend the money on a dedicated mc sat nav unit (as it happens I already have a Garmin 660) I would probably opt for a cheapie car unit inside a 3rd party waterproof case rather than use my phone.

Ever use a map??

I know I will sound like a luddite, but I still use and feel most comfortable with, a tank bag with a clear window, a map with highlighting pen and a side piece of paper with bullet points for the route. Then again, I also ride a 19 year old bike.

Sorry a bit late to the party.... but if you are still looking I'd recommend a Twisty Ride case.

I've had two - one for my old iPhone 4 and one for my new iPhone 6. Both brilliant, waterproof and very good value for money. I've not had the iPhone 6 case for long but the iPhone 4 case has worked flawlessly for the last 2 years and has covered many thousands of miles on the bike providing satnav, music and comms come rain or shine via the phone and Sena Bluetooth headset
