How hot is a Blackbird supposed to get?

As far as I remember it's an injection rad, it certainly looked the same size as the old one.

The carb rads are actually larger..
As to the frame..
Carb ones usually get hot as the right hand frame rail is almost in contact with the water pipe, but no where near as hot as the efi models.. I have burnt my hand on a digi dash frame !

They are just hairy and small. Not that dissimilar to other bits of my body! h1d1ng2
