I think enough bits were made for 50 but only 25 were built & sold.
Looks like you're spot on @tu*

It's allowed. :yo:
My point exactly,
It's only got 1100 miles, so every mile I do would be devaluing it.
How many of us get anywhere near the full potential of the standard 'bird
Did Honda really sanction them.
Is it more beautiful to look at than a standard BB
Chances are its temperamental, not the criteria for buying a Honda
So, it'd be a bike that I'd ride very rarely, then the only bit that was really accelerating would be its drop in value. Parked up in my garage it would look just the same as my ?3k BB, but would more than likely cost me more in repairs. So what would it's real value to me be? Bragging rights in the pub, the only problem with that is, one of the regulars is awaiting trial for the Easter Holiday, Hatton Garden heist, so a ?9k Honda is hardly going to get a lot of attention.
Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but he that be holds it now no longer finds it beautiful, so it's on eBay.
I'll get my coat h1d1ng2
People buy things for all sorts of reasons, sometimes just because they can.
Some people love limited edition things and never intend to use them, just have them as possessions. Personally, if it's the pure performance of the bike it wouldn't do it for me. I doubt many of us could handle the standard 'bird's performance.
The problem is finding the cams and a Dyno tuner who can do ram air ! I think there's only two dynos in the UK that has the facilities but has the operator got the skills to set it up .
Pistons kits are still available and so is the exhaust so it's very possible to build your own and stick some dymags on it too but why do it to an old bike when for less than 7k you can get a modern bike with all the kit and more power .
If I had deep pockets I'd love to have the anniversary collection but I'd also ride the arse off them
Not quite Lloydie.. Sadly Akro no longer have the zorst systems available so you would have to punt around and find a 2nd hand one..
The 1200 conversion is easy enough and a set of Mikuni flat slides would be easy to set up with the ram air too @tu*
Hmmmm - have you noticed that the ebay bike is a 1999 and has 1182 miles on it.
The auction bike in your link is also a 1999 and had 1180 miles on it.
I would say it's the exact same bike.
So if I can get someone to pull the splinters out of your arse, will you let me know if you agree with me or just think my opinions bollocks. I know you don't like to hurt my feelings, but you can tell me.
PS. I see a few people saying they don't get near the Blackbirds limits but if you need to upgrade the suspension would like better bakes and run out of ground clearance you found the limits of the BB.
Your opinions are bollocks, Dave. There you go, happy now? :-0) And just to add insult to injury, your breath smells, you stink of wee and your mum dresses you funny.
You're welcome @tu*
I remember reading that they only made 25 because they could not get their hands on any more carbed models so the rest were to be FI models. The trouble was Honda could not provide V&M with the data they needed for the injection system or something like that and the project went tits up.
