HID Headlight conversion, DIY fitting..

Bit the bullet today and fitted a HID light to the wifes CBF 600s...

Read the instructions, phone call to JAWS for a bit of moral support (Cheers John) and off to the garage.....

Not having a Haynes for the CBF meant working a little bit blind, but the job is done, and the light is awesome!!!

HID is the one on the right in the picture, mainbeam is on the left, picture does not really show it as good as the naked eye, but you get the drift...

Bought the kit from John and am well impressed, now just need to justify having a kit for the BB...........

How long did it take you to do it Coddy? I've HID (sic) my eye on these for a while now, but the expense has been putting me off.

By the way, put your petrol can away and make sure that you get that climbing ivy off your garage or it'll take over and ruin your brickwork!!

Garage door needs a touch up too! man8um

HID, High Intensity Discharge...

Gives a very white light (Just tried it in the dark, feckin Hell!!) Way better than a normal bulb, kit is not cheap though, wife does a high milage commuting, it gives her a bit more safety as she should now be seen easily...

Start to finish, about 3.5 hours, but that was because I had to work blind in getting fairing panels off etc, reckon on the BB I could do it in 2 - 2.5, if that.

No cutting of wires should be needed, biggest part really is making sure you remove enough of the panels etc to get easy access to the headlight, as you may need to bend the clip that holds the bulb in, plus in no way shape or form must you touch the bulb either with your hands or anything else, so easy access is a must....

Start at the bulb and work back to the battery, make sure the battery is disconnected before you start work anyway, as the ballast box can give out one hell of a kick....

Petrol can has been put away, Ivy is staying as I cant be arsed prising it from the bricks...

Garage door, what colour would you suggest???? g0nn3

Cheers pal, I might give it a go soon brok3 !!!

As for the garage door, Red is fine, its just there is a fair old sized chip taken out of it, just look to the right of the headlight on the bike!!
