We’ve been second best all night & Leicester were unlucky to have their second goal ruled out, thank f+ck for crap referees.

Well what a final ten minutes that was, brilliant result, just shows, winners never give up.

And if you don’t take your chances you get punished - from the highlights I saw Leicester should have been at least 10-0 up.

shocker of a call by the assistant. Yet many still moan about VAR

I still don’t want var, it all depends on the var ref on the day, the game is held up for several minutes & they still come up with the wrong decision.

You would have been two down with it last night - that is what VAR is great at, objective decision called incorrectly.

Referring to Leicester’s disallowed goal, just been discussing it with a mate who is a local league ref, he says the assistant got it right, if Rutter had deliberately chested the ball then the goal would have stood but as it hit him accidentally then it was offsiide, chuffing hell, the offside rule used to be so simple.

I’ve just had another look and don’t think your mate is right but it did make me think.

The goal scorer was not in an offside position when the header hit the post - I think it is irrelevant whether the Leeds defender made a deliberate attempt to play the ball or not.

If the goal scorer had been in an offside position (not an offence in itself) when the Leicester player nutted it against the post I would agree with your mate. The fact that it came back off the defender means he cannot be offside.

Suspect this will be on Ref Watch tomorrow!!

Be interesting tofind out, just shows the confusion in the game now.
I don’t think there is confusion…it always goes back to the same thing….armchair experts not knowing the Laws!
PS I am very confident in the previous post I made!!

Of course there is confusion, professional referees are getting it wrong more & more because they fail to understand the laws either that or they are showing bias which we know referees never do

Could it possibly be that the armchair experts who claim to be correct are actually wrong and the ref is right ?

It all seems very simple to me. If Leeds score it is not offside. If the opposition score it is.

That depends on the officials
It doesn't seem to matter what the officials think. If Leeds score it is never offside. Thats my understanding of the offside rule which I have to admit I've only gleaned from this site.

If it’s a genuine offside then I can accept that but when a perfectly good goal is ruled out gecause the striker’s hand is offside then I’ll not accept that.
It isn’t just Football where the ref’s are crap but I’ve heard fans of egg chasing moan about various decisions made by ref’s

Yes, true, but whenever a ref makes a decision it doesn't then get him mobbed by all the players that have been decided against - they accept it and move on.

Dan Cole got told in no uncertain terms by the referee that if he appealed for a penalty again then that penalty would immediately be reversed. He didn't do it again. Proper refereeing.

Was that before or after the French player got dismissed for a shocking tackle that could have killed his opponent??
