Flying the SR-71

A talk by retired USAF Major Brian Shul.

Before he flew the Bird he flew in Vietnam. Shot down, burnt in the crash and rescued by US Special Forces, he recovered to go on to fly the Blackbird.

I've watched his talk a couple of times. Very funny and quite inspiring.

Saw it at Mildenhall a few times, watched it take off a couple of times
Its almost poetic to watch and very cathartic
And the first Thetford Bash included a ride out to Duxford for every one to pose with the SR71....
