Goddamn it!!! Been washing the car earlier, proper good job, wheels off and cleaned the back of them, copperslip on the threads, ACF50 (yeah that stuff!) all inside the arches etc etc. Thought it would be a good idea to put some in the locks too, so with the yellow straw attached first into the passenger side door lock, short squirt, then the boot, then the drivers door, all good.

Thought it would also be a good idea to do the ignition while I'm at it, so in goes the straw, decent squirt, pull it out, straw stuck. Feck. Wont come out no matter how much i pull, so got the pliers out, the straw comes out, minus a small piece thats now stuck in my ignition. Can i get the key in, can I heck. Can i get the piece of straw out, not a damn chance.

Stripped the plastics off around the steering column, got the switch off the back of the ignition barrell, barrell wont come out. Thought sod it, even if i could get it out I cant get into it. :bang: :bang: :bang:

Locksmith coming in the morning to relieve me of ?60 and hopefully, about 3mm of yellow sodding straw. Well, you live and learn I guess.

Moral of the story, if you have a Ford (first mistake there eh!) spray the key with WD40 or ACF50 then put that in the ignition!

Gonna have a curry tonight to cheer myself up. Before anyone mentions it, I've tried with a small pair of tweezers, long nose pliers, all sorts. Need some sort of sergical implement I reckon!

Off to watch the rugby and try and forget about it anyway.

Cars spotless by the way!

Cian.

Try a pin, split the straw with the pin and draw out

Thanks for that, but I cant even see the straw thats broken off in the barrell, never mind being able to split it with a pin! Its well stuck I tells ya, but I bet this fella coming in the morning will get it in about 5 mins eh haha!

Thought about that too, but what happens to it when it hardens again???!! Surely it will mould to the inside of the barrell I would have thought?

Thanks tho, any more for any more?

Virtual drinks on me too by the way!

Can you blow it out with compressed air?

Green hypodermic needle might help
Stab it and withdraw?
