Thanks for the help on the phone today. I had one more go at the job with some other solder I found, and as I was working, smoke started to come from inside the soldering gun, and a smell of burning. So I think its a trip to the shops for a new soldering Iron and some decent solder Lol!!

Well by the sound of it that kit you bought was not exactly a bargain !!! Solder that did not solder, and an iron that got hotter inside than on the tip !!!!!!!! 8rfl@

Lol! The kit is old, but I haven't used it much, if at all before.:xm....
