Rockin on planet Martin
Got a ?25 voucher for asda from my multi million pound employer this xmas.
Just been out and spent the fooker. I purchased Queen+Paul Rogers live at Sheffield and Iron Maiden, Rock in Rio and a packet of fags.
What an awsome pair of dvd's. Wound up the Sony home theater system and entertained the neighbours on the close.
Queen (only Brian May and Roger Taylor) were as good as they have ever been. Paul Rogers just seems to get better and better. His voice is still strong and his stage presence still puts him as one of the greatest front men IMHO. They played all the classic Queen tracks and a few Bad Company and Free ones too. Awsome. Side features included are a performance of John Lennons Imagine at Hyde Park.
Iron Maiden Rock in Rio. Probably the worlds biggest rock festival and the band stepped up and deliverd. From more recent tracks as 'Brave new world' to Maiden classics such as 'Iron Maiden' 'Run to the hills' and 'The number of the beast' were hammerd out in finest dolby 5.1. Asides feature band 'day in the life' interviews.
Combine these dvds with others in my collection such as AC/DC live at donnington and family Jewlels and I think it fair to say Asda have come up trumps.
The above featured bands still prove that the can still rock in these days of up and coming so called guitar based 'rock' bands. May the Dinosors of rock and roll continue to entertain those of us that saw em the first time round :yo:
