Ever wondered why you never see dead penguins? Wonder no more for I shall explain.
Penguins are Communal birds who mate for life & still maintain a close bond with their offspring.
When one of the community dies the elder male penguins dig a hole in the ice using their beaks & vestigial wings, when the hole is deep enough they will push the dead penguin into the hole using their feet, they then use the ice they have dug out to fill in the hole.
The whole of their penguin community which can contain several hundred birds will then form circles round the hole, eldest first youngest last, they will then sing "freeze a jolly good fellow, freeze a jolly Good fellow"
Did you really believe I know what happens to dead penguins?
