I reckon the madest bike I ever owned was a CR500 motocross bike converted to road legal supermoto, well just about anyway.

That thing used to scare the life out of me battling to keep the front wheel on the ground with that mental 2 stroke power.

Anybody else owned a crazy road bike ?

LOL

Stan Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee [Bruce's brother] once had a Blackbird

He couldn't ride it properly so that made him crazy...

Does that count?

I rode an RM250 crosser on the road as a teenager - not exactly legal but incredible fun especially with sandcross tyres on tarmac..........power delivery was 'punchy' to say the least!

a few years ago performance bikes did the same and made a cr500 road legal, despite putting the smallest back sprocket and largest front sprocket they had trouble keeping the bike from wheeling in the first 3 gears! so if that is the case what is a standard geared cr500 like?

Cant remember what size rear sprocket was on it but it was quite small. How the likes of Dave Thorpe etc used to race those things flat out on the dirt is beyond me.
