Saturday, 7 of us started out on the west coast, (one chap from Blackpool so that will do for the west coast). The air was damp but the skies were bright, Picked-up another 3 Preston and then made steady progress east. The clouds were very heavy as we passed Pendle Hill, but the rain showers held off.
By lunchtime we were at the North bay in Scarborough and the sun was shining. Suitably refreshed and a quick photocall on the beach, we set-off back via the North York Dales. Spirited ride via Pickering,Sutton Bank, Leyburn and time for an ice-cream at Hawes ( home of Wensleydale cheese). Then as time was getting later than was planned, it was a direct route home.
Hawes to Ingleton - boy do I like that road! had a 5 minute wait at the bottom, to allow the rest to catch-up. Quick stop at Caton to say a couple of goodbyes then home via Pilling Sands.
So, touch short of 300 miles for the whole day, and enjoyed every minute :lick:
