Yes, Ian there was a guy on Top Gear (I think) a week or two ago who cost mega bucks to do a clean on "Supercars"

He used a clay substance to bring the paint to a mega smooth finish in preparation for waxing...but he also used a cutting compound beforehand to get it ready for the claying...

Then he used a special degreaser to finally dress to bodywork before he applied the "specialy pure" south American beeswax (which cost ?600 a tub :eek: )

I wouldnt think that you could use this system on blackbirds, because the paint finish is so soft & thin that by the time you had got it ready for claying, you would be at the base coat...(Lots of supersexy silver bikes then...lol)

Cant remember any more than that, sorry.
