Not having seen the programme I can only base my opinion on what is posted. Whilst I don't check my tyre pressure before every ride I do check it quite regularly, I have seen bikes with tyres that are balder than I am
Bill, it wasn't a bite mate I was agreeing with you, bang the Criminals up & let the Prison Officers sort them out that is why I joined the service.
Roxxo, The decisions about running Prisons are made by people who have never worked in Prisons, & who have no idea what sort of people are locked up, Prison governers are on a bonus scheme whereby if they come up with an idea that saves money they get a bonus these ideas are usually at the expense of the base line Prison Officers at the moment Wakefield is being flooded with new inexperienced staff & somewherre along the line they are being told not to listen to advice from any long serving officers as most of them just want to be friends with the prisoners. I along with many of the older end of Staff at Wakefield refuse to call the Prisoners by their first names or prefix their surname with 'Mr' but unfortunately we are now in the minority.
we keep getting threatened with privatisation & the private sector are [allegedly] on 41% less wages than the public sector but as the old adage goes 'If you pay peanuts you get monkeys' but what they fail to recognise is the fact that the Public sector prisons are the most successful Public sector group in the country.
I am convinced that the Government don't give a damn about the safety of Prison staff or Prisoners for that matter they just want prisoners & prisons to be out of sight & out of mind.
