Did anybody see the programme on Cheshire Police on BBC1 last night. It followed a few bobbies in cars and on drug busts around where I live. Now, this is not a knock against the Police before any on the bobbies on here get excited - just a thought on the Laws of this country.
They did a drugs bust on a house in Knutsford - the kid was dealing and got 6 months. It should be life in my opinion.
They arrested a kid dealing on the street - caught him in the middle of a deal - he got 12 months ( I think). Ditto.
They then showed 2 bobbies in a Volvo chasing a bike up the M53 towards Liverpool. They showed about 20-30 seconds of footage but it takes about 5 minutes to drive that section. The bike did a max of 105 MPH - and was using lanes 1, 2 and 3 without indicating or using mirrors - the reason he wasn't using mirrors was because he didn't have any. In the footage they showed the biker didn't do anything particularly bad apart from not stopping until well down the road. He hadn't seen the bobbies chasing him!
When they stopped him he had just had a drink and was arrested BUT he passed in the nick - he showed 23 on the meter. BUt his bike was a mess. No pads in the rear brake - rear tyre de-laminating, brake hoses loose etc etc.
His passenger was also arreated for being abusive - he sobered up pretty quickly in the nick and was shown laughing and joking with the bobbies later on.
The riders sentence?
6 months in jail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For dangerous driving!
The same sentence as the scum selling drugs to all and sundry where I live! I couldn't believe it - even my missus said " that's a bit harsh". How the F*** does that work then? :dunno:

You seem to forget something - its not the police who pass sentence, its the courts.

The courts need to wake to whats important and deal accordingly.

Feckin bike was a death trap though.

What do you think the coppers feel like when they have spent hours doing the paper work, and Poor sentences are given out by the Courts. :bang:

Typical bobbies Bots

Didn't really read what you said. Even though you made it clear you weren't getting at THEM!!! they still couldn't resist moaning! h1d1ng2 I didn't see where you suggested they were responsible. :p Seriously though I think everyone is astounded at some of the decisions. The bloke on the bike was a danger to nobody but himself and his pillion. Perhaps he should have offered to supply the coppers with drugs and THE COURT would have let him off with a fine! sp1ttt3

I know that no one was having a go at the police. b0x2
Just saying that its even worse for the officers, doing the job, the paperwork that is now overwhelming, and the courts are so inconsistant its a laugh when anyone actually gets to be prosecuted d04l1ng cos of the fines / findings.

I watched the programme as well last night and the "biker"??? got what he deserved!! IMO,
how about the woman complaining because the coppers arrested the dealer in front of her kid!! WTF!! why didnt she drag the kid in when she saw all the "going's on" and the dealer was doing business in front of her house!! so she may have even been aware of the dealing !! :bang:

I didn't see the programme but sorry I don't entirely agree, yeah jail the pushers for life, that I agree with but the kid on the bike two up 105mph on an unroadworthy vehicle deserves six months imo, he wasn't just a danger to himself & his pillion but to everybody else on that road, think of the consequences had he had an accident, it's ok saying the offence only warranted a ban, because we all know how effective they are don't we

got to agree - rider got what he deserved. the consequences could have been awful had he had an accident - and on such an unroadworthy machine it wouldn't have been long. that doesn't mean the the dealer should have got the same sentence though b0x1 g0nn3 :bandit:

That was my point Rods - how can dealing in drugs only get the same sentence as being a plank on a bike?

Maybe the court's view is that if the dealer is out of the way for a couple of months the people supplying him with the drugs will not be prepared to wait and pass their evil wares onto someone else also his victims/clients will still need their fixes & so will look elsewhere for their drugs

If's, but's and maybe's don't come into it. He should have been sentenced on what actually happened, you can say this and that "could" have happened. Six months in prison for riding too fast - NO WAY! I don't pay my taxes.............Sorry that was meant to say, I don't pay my taxes to keep someone in prison when they haven't actually committed THAT serious an offence. I know some will disagree - that's healthy.

I think the actual Police did a first class job, well done fella's. They have some total scum to deal with and that fat turd with the big mouth would've got a serious kicking from me, the wanker. How that very polite Policeman kept his cool was beyond me!

My answers are simple:-

1) Bring back National Service - 16 to 20 year olds. NO exceptions.
2) Murders, Paedophiles, Rapists/Sex attackers, etc - Hang them (don't waste bullets shooting the filth)
3) Theives- flog them in public.
4) Bring back the cane in schools
5) Allow the Police to, well, POLICE, Now there's a fecking novel idea!!!
6) Let the Police give kids a flick around the ear for being a gobby shite.

Let's stop being a namby pamby nation of wet lettuce's and start to get a spine back again. This country is full of liberal minded wankers letting it go to rat-shit.

Whoa, I think I got that off my chest at last. That feel gooooooooooood.

My two penny worth...............

I'd arm the police with automatic weapons and allow them to shoot any twat they encounter, like those shown last night, on site, without question.
Strange the old mouthy grandpa was so "innocent" he was convicted of allowing drug sales to take part in his house and got two years........

And as for the wankers riding the bike I'd allow them to go straight to jail for a minimum of five years..........

I reckon the crime rate in my world would drop dramatically...........it does on my estate.............we shoot at the poachers first and ask questions after because I'm sick of having to restock the rivers!

Tip top

That biker was on a death trap ... he'd had a drink and his pillion was definitely a drunk idiot.

Any sentence he got would have reflected not only what he did .... but what he had done in the past - If, say for example you've already been done for drink driving three times, driving whilst disqualified a couple of times, riding similar highly specified desirable motorcycles and other such offences then you are not going to get off with ?60 and three points!

I only saw half the programme and didn't hear if it said what previous he had but I guess there has to be more to it .....

I too though love the way it's easier to seemingly get into serious S**t for motoring offences than say drugs.....

Some absolutely belting posts here so far.

I think 'Steamy' & 'Lord Pinder' have it in the bag, i'm all for National Service for young OFFENDERS instead of prison or community service.

The cops DO get a mountain of abuse and are very often placed in the firing line by scum, public who don't know any different and upper management in many cases.
I think the programme portrayed the cops in a very good and honest way.

Yours sincerely

Anne Robinson.

National service?

The forces don't want them and why should they be forced to sort them out? Isn't that what we pay prison officers for?
