Clueless in most things
I know we have mentioned sat navs before but often there are other things too such as phone and music.

If someone decided not to go down the direct to battery or cigarette lighter type to the battery would the following be possible?

if say I wanted to fit either a single or double waterproof usb connection at the front of the bike, where could I take the power from? I had thought of taking direct from the side light bulb power but unsure if that has enough juice to power a single or double usb adapter. This would then make it ignition live rather than permanent live.

Would this be possible?

You would be surprised how little current these take. I have been looking into this for my cage and as a lot of the circuitry is now passed through electronic 'modules' I didn't want to put any excessive load into the circuits.

The one I bought powered with no load took 0.05A, this was probably just the led illumination. With a phone plugged in it was 0.5A.

I am thinking of putting one under the seat on the bird now I have added an extra fuse box but if I hadn't I would want it on a switched live circuit and I would use the brake light.
