Nothing but blue sky, although a touch cool, felt like the first day of summer.

Went for a run with a mate but he had to head back after an hour (gardening to do

).

Rode solo for another 5 hours and had a ball !

Brecon Beacons, Abergavenny and all around that region. So many bikes out it was amazing and met some fun characters in Abergavenny. Also some stunning bikes there (wouldn't swop for mine though).

I'm actually aching everywhere as I haven't spent that long on a bike since late summer. My favourite road that goes on for mile after twisty mile over open common, usually with large numbers of loose sheep, was unbelievably sheepless, what a bonus. Starting to get the Blackbird up to speed along there now.

And the most surprising thing about today... in 6 hours of riding in some on the best biking roads around I didn't see one police car, police bike, or speed camera !

Doesn't get any better than that !

So... 2 posts and after 2 days not one response to either.

I'm obviously not 'in the club'... or everyone has me on ignore... :-0)

It's nice when a ride just clicks into place. Went for a spin the other day (Friday I think) - the sun was out (ish), and it was relatively warm.

Up through Beaconsfield and past Amersham on the big sweeping A-roads, before nipping up to Aylesbury and back again. Not too far, as I had to get back for the kids, but a nice blast nonetheless. Plenty of overtaking opportunities on the twisty bits, and the bike was running like clockwork.

There were a few other bikes out, but most people were still in work I suppose. Nothing got past, or even tried, although there was the 'standard issue' knobber in a BMW who got away.

When I say 'got away', I mean took so many dangerous risks to stay ahead of me that I inwardly cringed several times. This included two near head-on collisions and carving up a row of cars so badly he was almost rear ended. In true BMW fashion he also placed his car in the middle of the road to prevent me overtaking, not realising that the bird was barely ticking over.... just not worth it in my opinion - I wasn't even racing, just enjoying the ride, and wanted to get past. What a cock.

Anyway, it was one of those rides where you get home and realise what an awesome bike this is, and how much fun riding can be. And also, you don't have to be fast to be quick, as my mate says.:-0)

NH. Sounds like a top day out! Can't wait for Friday - I've taken the day off to go for a run on my new 'blade. Hope the weather's good.

Had a good run out with two mates from work this aftenoon, one on an R1 and the other on Gixr thou, both of them really quick riders, one being an ex bike instructor. was suprised at how well the bike kept up despite being on non Bird friendly roads, they were more suited to their style of bikes. Few front up moments and all round good fun.
