General standard of spelling on the Beeb is a fecking disgrace these days.

But if you want a real giggle then turn on subtitles during any live program on BBC. Priceless. 8rfl@

I think the subtitles are auto-generated, so about as reliable as voice recognition on a smart phone, barely.

Depends who does them. Some are produced by stenographers others use software. Both can be equally hilarious...!

ERR, try prograMMe !!!:bang:

"Programme" is derived from the French. Up until the end of the 19th century "program" was used exclusively in English. Yes, I know there were no TV's around then but if you fancy yourself as the forums new pedant then expect both barrels in return.

So...to continue. "Program" is now widely accepted in the majority of English language speaking countries as a replacement for "programme".
As the Americans largely claim the English language as their own (if you've installed any software lately you'll know what I mean), we, the originators of the English language (i.e. British English) had better start falling in to line. :-0)

We invented the language. Why should we "fall into line "? A case of the tail wagging the dog, methinks
