They look like they have only a couple of mm's to go before hitting the wear inductors so how old are they?

There's also how long they were on the shelf before fitting and how long they've been on your car.

18 months old with 10000 miles on them with about 4mm to run on them

DATE on them 3510

Maybe it's the looking down aspect of the picture but the part of the tyre in view looks like it has less than 4mm to go before hitting the wear indicator blocks.

As for the cracking it's usually age that brings this on but a google search shows other possible contributors.

Either way I'd bin 'em. @tu*

Come on you Hatters
If thats the worst I wouldn't worry too much about them, unless you have a euro trip or track day planned. Fine cracks like that can be quite common, just keep an eye on them, with 10k, down to 4mm, they'll only do another 4-5k anyway, so just nicely for the winter you'll need a new pair.
And as most on here seem to agree, Bridgstones are sh1t. Get some Michelins....find your nearest Costco and a friend with membership:-0)

right i have had the tyres removed off the car today and a new set fitted at cost to me

there is still 4.5 mm left on them across the complete tyre so the guy is sending them back to bridgestone for a warranty clam

Bridgestones warranty reads like this

The Platinum Pact Limited Warranty covers all Bridgestone brand passenger and light truck tires?except winter, and ?temporary use? spare tires. A tire covered by the Platinum Pact Limited Warranty will be replaced with an equivalent new tire either free of charge or for a pro-rated amount if the tire becomes unusable for any reason within the manufacturer?s control under the following conditions:

? The free tire replacement period extends up to (a) 3 years from the date of purchase?proof of purchase date required, or (b) 4 years from the date of tire manufacture without proof of purchase date. During this period, the tire will be replaced free of charge (including mounting and balancing). You may be charged applicable taxes, the cost of valve stems, and disposal fees.

? After the free tire replacement period, coverage extends up to (a) 5 years from the date of purchase?proof of purchase date required, ,or (b) 6 years from the date of tire manufacture without proof of purchase date. During this period, the tire will be replaced but there will be a pro-rated charge. To determine the replacement price, the percent of tread wear is multiplied by DEALER?S then current selling price for the replacement tire(s). The appropriate taxes, mounting, balancing, disposal fees, and other service charges may be added to the replacement price.

? The tire must not be worn to 2/32 inch (1.6 mm) or less remaining original tread depth (i.e. worn down to the top of the built-in indicators in the tread grooves).

? Exclusions apply?as identified in the section ?What This Limited Warranty Does Not Cover.?

im running a book on the out come as im not holding hope on them covering the cost of new tyres BUT there warranty reads as they will

well after my call to Bridgestone they told me to return the tyres to the for them to look at.....

here is the sting....

you have to buy new tyres first... So i Did

there reply was

Tyres have been run under inflated / or overladen and this has accelerated the wear, and heat build up causing the cracking the the tyre

Bollocks thats what i say

as the car has tyre pressure monitoring and had been services by MB 6 weeks before and tyre were ok then

i just think they are using this as a cop out

to be continued

So, were the outer edges more worn than the inner? If the wear was even across the tread then in my experience this is not an under inflated or over loaded issue. Keep at it and don't let then bully you into accepting their evaluation.

Nope little more wear on outter edge but I would expect that as it a 225 tyre on the front of an MB

I'll post a better pic when I'm on the pc

I would sooner them to tell me to fcuk off than give me some bollocks
