EBC sintered are the only pads I will use on my own bikes and now are the only pads I will sell..
They are very gentle on disks ( the sintering is copper I believe ) and they work bloody well too !

Hi john glad to hear that as that is what I use all the time. IT was a cost cutting exercise as I am off to the ring friday, and italy 1st week of july and need to replace me pads before I go. Trying not spend to much hols money. Is the standard bulb for birds h4 or h7 as a bloke on ebay selling h7 as standard bits?.

Can't believe I've read this FFS

You're going to the Ring and around Europe on a very quick and capable motorcycle - presumably doing several thousand miles at a respectable pace

Yet you're quiet prepared to risk your safety by trying to save a few shillings on cheap brake pads ?????

Un-fecking-believable

Tell you what - save a few more shillings by doing away with Medical Insurance - that'll save a bob or two

Thereagain with cheap brake pads - better not - you might need the cover

Hi fat bert unless you ask questions in life you never learn. I dont in tend to learn the hard way at all. I,ve always used ebc sintereds on everything I,ve owned but there must be more than 1 maker of good brake pads out there hence the questions ( never fuck around with tyres brakes or streering ) sound advice from my old man. Dont mind being lambasted for asking a question many thanks johnny blade.w4lc0m3

Yes the standard headlight bulb is an H7 but do be very careful..I learnt a long time ago not to sell anything other than the H7's meant for bikes.. Gawd knows why but the car ones seem to last ..errr.. well not too good in general.. ( no doubt there will be exceptions but I speak in general )
problem with buying from eBay rather than someone like me is that there is no comebacks.. that lamp fails in a few months time and all you can do is buy another ! No warranty at all

Have to agree with FB I bought a set of pads off Fleabay for my 'Bird' not because they were cheap (they were) but because I couldn't be arsed to go down to the local Honda shop to buy a set (didn't know about Jaws at the time) they were a pile of shit, gave them two weeks in the hope that they would firm up a bit with use but they didn't, gave up with 'em and put a set of EBC's in. Sooo much better and an expensive lesson learned

FFS - Part 2

OK so, obviously, you've never done the ring before?

You shouldn't try and save a couple of sheckells on el-cheapo brake pads when, if you read the small print at the Ring, it's gonna cost you ?750+ if you have an off and they close the circuit to "recover" you - let alone the cost of life and limb if you have an accident

?750 will buy you a lot of brake pads set so stop being a fucking skint-flint and buy the proper kit FFS

Alternatively, do the rest of the world a favour and sell your bike thus making it a better and safer riding place for riders who know what the fuck they are doing, cos you are a danger to any decent biker

No idea why it is but every bloody evening the Jaws site seems to fall off the edge for about an hour..
The other sites ( blackbirdspares.co.uk and hondablackbird.co.uk/ ) are on the same server but never fall over !
Bloody crazy situation !

And reading Johns 2nd post they actually do work well, will just eat the disks

So would actually be fine for the 'Ring' but bloody expensive in the long run

No mischief at all!!

Just sick to the back nashers of tight-arsed skinflints tring to save a few pennies at the expense of safety!

Best advice is ditch the bike and buy a fooking moped because anyone with this mentality doesn't derserve to be on the same piece of tarmac as responsible bikers

Oh errr missus ....... calm down, calm down ...... you may be right of course .......

But being right on a sandbank can take the "wind out of your sails" ....... (actually it doesn't ..... the wind won't come out of your sails unless your're head to wind or lower them........but I digress).... :-0)

:-0) Result jaws is ?6.00 cheaper than I normally have to pay, sorry if this sickens you bert but I spend my money how and where I like .
Not once did I say Im going to use cheap pads at the cost of safety to myself or others . I find your attitude some what alarming and off hand to say the least.
You are obviously the font of all knowledge, pity it dry up, when all you had to do was point me in the direction of Jaws like Andy did many thanks again :bow: .
You must be the son of god to sit there and slag off peolple you dont know or have never even met.
And on the point of iresponsible actions what was that comment from another member about riding at night with a dark visor ( if the cap fits wear it sit down shut up and fuck off ) before you give yourself a heart attack. If this is the type of backlash you recieve from asking questions on the forum then so be it back protector on then.
I would never launch a scathing attack on someone I know nothing about, is this you in your true colours or are you related to Dufus. Because you got the reaction you,ve asked for there,s two t,s in Twat and I take mine with sugar . Reply all you want to as far as Im concerned this over and done Johnny Blade. For a good deal on EBC brake pads go to jaws and save yourself any hassel asking questions on the forum another satisfied member.8ree!

Sooo Bert using your reasoning We should only use Honda OEM pads 'cause as they are more expensive they must be better

My stealth disks must be dangerous as they were about half the price of the OEM jobs

My de-linked brakes must be a complete death trap as the savings I made on the braided hoses was massive

My upgraded fork springs from Jaws were cheaper so they're no good

Lastly my DID chain and sprocket set should be junked too and replaced by Hondas more expensive items (even if DID made 'em anyway)

Sorry Jaws looks like you're outta business
