Back from the Bridge

Dark Angel

Still kickin' it!
Just back from a couple of hours out with the missus. From sheer habit we ended up at Devil's Bridge! :rolleyes:

Is it me - or are the bacon butties better in winter than they are in summer? And has the standard of bacon butties fallen from what it was a couple of years ago? Maybe it's just nostalgia, but even in winter they don't seem to taste as good as they used to!" :}

Strange, also, to see a line of cars parked where the bikes usually rest. Only five or six bikes there when we arrived - and not a single underseat pipe to be seen anywhere! :p

Guess it's winter, then!

It ain't your imagination Eric, the standard of all the munchies at DB has taken a nose dive. The shop changed hands a couple years ago (for a ridiculous sum) and the standard of food slumped from that point onwards. I never buy anything from there now, I call in at Caton (Denny Beck) for morning munchies now. Or even better, 'Woodies' butty shop in the car park at 'Crook 'o' Lune' just across the bridge at Caton. The food is excellent and the bonus is that there are no bikes!

Cheers, Paul...

w;;v ...I'll give Caton-Benny-Deck, or Woodies-Crook-o'-Lume a try, next time we're out. Hope you've had a good Christmas & New Year - now get that ruddy house finished! :p

My favorite for a bacon butty is Seaways cafe at Fridaythorpe, junction of A166 and B1251.
Popular with bikers and you can always sit inside if the Mrs is with you!
